Synopsis:
Nohae and Yeong have been friends since high school. Their friendship isn't the friendliest, but it doesn't have to be. They're best buds and share everything. They've only been forced to grow even closer as Nohae joins the entertainment industry and forces Yeong to become his manager. Not only do they work together, though. Yeong also lives with Nohae. This results in them spending almost every second of every day together.
Yeong is ready to cut the cord. He wants to become more independent and starts seeking another job, but Nohae isn't a fan of this. Unfortunately, there isn't much Nohae can do about it… until he downloads an app on Yeong's phone. Supposedly, it is a cursed app that rewards the user with a great fortune but also punishes the user with even greater misfortune if they cannot complete the app's commands. It doesn't sound too bad, though, right? All Yeong has to do is follow the app's orders. It can't request anything too wild… right?
Review:
Confession time! When I first started my journey into the wonderful world of BL manhwa, just after reading The Sweetest Man, which was my first BL manhwa, I came across Dirty ♥ Vibration (Tapas) | Sexventure♥App (Lezhin). By that point, I had never read a mature/explicit manhwa, so I had no idea what to expect. Needless to say, I went in, and I never looked back. However, it's been a hot minute since I read this, and since starting this blog where I review manhwa, I've honed in on who my favorite creators are, what storylines I prefer, etc. So imagine my embarrassment when I realized this was actually created by Fujoking, one of my self-professed favorite creators of all time (creator of You Jin, for anyone who isn't familiar), and I had absolutely no idea. So, in actuality, Fujoking helped guide me down the path of degeneracy, and I can only thank them for it.
All that being said, admittedly, I am super biased towards this work. Not only is it by Fujoking, but it was the first explicit BL manhwa I ever read, so it not only gets creator points but nostalgia points. However, even with my bias, I don't think this is undeserving of praise. As with all work by Fujoking, this is absolutely gorgeous, with some of the hottest character designs around. What makes it even better, though, are the character personalities.
Our bottom Yeong is my favorite type. He's spunky, he's sloppy, and he's hilarious. I am not bothered at all by dumb bottoms, which is pretty standard for Fujoking. However, what makes him even better is that he is a power bottom, no doubt about it. He has no problem taking charge and doing what he wants, which is a nice change of pace. I find that, typically, the bottom is skittish or weaker than the top, but this isn't the case. Once he gets a taste of bottoming, Yeong falls in love with it and just goes for it. He's an absolute pervert, and I love that for him.
On the other end of the spectrum, we have our top Nohae. Like Yeong flips the nervous and reluctant bottom script, Nohae does the same for the top role. He is actually the one who needs convincing and ends up falling in love with Yeong first. Once again, I loved that so much. It was so nice to see a top be the romantic one and want to establish a relationship that goes beyond the lust rather than rely on the bottom to do that. I just can't express how much I love this dynamic.
The one downside is the setup. The app is a bit confusing, and I feel like it is a bit too flexible in its rules and how it changes to fit the narrative. The big reveal that the app was actually a prank played by Cupid felt a little corny, but let's face it, the setup ultimately doesn't matter all that much. We are here for the sexy time, and there is plenty of it. I do want to mention that the setup isn't all that deep or well-crafted in case anyone is expecting or hoping for a deep story. For those of us, though, who are just here for a good time, you can't go wrong here. This has some of the sexiest scenes you'll find.
Results:
I love, love, love this one. It's so sexy and has an entertaining, unique dynamic that I don't feel like I typically see in BL between tops and bottoms. It's beautiful to look at, short and sweet, and you're guaranteed a good time. If you've never read anything from Fujoking and want to try something out before you dive into their ongoing/longer work, this is a great one. I promise you won't be disappointed.
